Amalia (Emmie) Sottile passed away unexpectedly on May 6 th ,2022. Amalia was born to the late Concetta and Joseph Sottile in Sicily on November 29, 1940. She is also predeceased by her beautiful sister, Marie Chowansky.
Before retiring she worked as a pattern maker in the NYC garment district. She was an active member of the St. Henry Church where she made bibs for Baptisms. She also was an avid member of the Bayonne Quilting Club and of The St. Ann's Society.
Amalia adored her family. She is survived by her loving brother, Cesare and his wife, Harriet along with their children Derek Sottile, Dana Galvis and Amalia's grandnieces Hailey and Gianna, she is also survived by Joseph Chowansky (Angela) and family, Diane Cronin (Chris) and family, Lisa MacDonald (Dennis) and family, Donna Prinzo (Joseph) and family, and Julie Brattoli.
A visitation will be held at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 John F Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne from 4-8 PM on Tuesday May 10th. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Wednesday May 11th at St. Henry's Church, 82 West 29 th Street in Bayonne, with all welcome to gather at the. funeral home starting at 8:30AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ
