BURTI, Angelina “Angie” (nee:Mazzilli), 89, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Bayonne, Angie was a vibrant and devoted member of the community. She retired from M.O.T.B.Y. in Bayonne and dedicated herself to others throughout her life. She shared her love of music as a private piano teacher and supported students as a teacher’s aide in the Bayonne School System. Angie was an active member of the Elks Lodge, the Concerned Citizens of Bayonne, and the Catholic War Veterans. She also generously gave her time as a volunteer at Bayonne Medical Center for 12 years.
Angie loved volunteering at Bayonne Medical Center and found great joy in serving others helping with events, security, guiding visitors, and most of all doing the coffee cart and interacting with patients to brighten their days with conversation and kindness. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and cared for. All who knew her, loved her. Angie was the sweetest, most dedicated, kindhearted person with a heart of gold and gentle soul. She will be truly missed.
Family was everything to her, she was the rock of her family - strong, determined, and fiercely devoted to those she loved. She celebrated life at every opportunity and filled every room with warmth and laughter. Though our hearts are heavy, we will miss her deeply and will carry her love and family traditions in our hearts forever, and her spirit will continue to guide us every day.
Angie was a beloved wife to the late John C. Burti, a loving mother to Gina Gold and her husband Harris, Julie Ritornaro and her husband Joseph, and to Jeni Schauer and her husband Pete. A cherished grandmother to Anthony Gold (Illiana), Marisa Lombardi (Vincent), John Anthony Burti, Nicolas Burti, Gianna Ritornaro, Joseph Ritornaro, Peter Schauer and Matthew Schauer. A great grandmother to Alexander and Angel Gold, Gia Lombardi and Miles Burti. A dear sister to Nancy D’Antonio (the late Tony), and to Vincent Mazzilli (Lorraine), and her sister-in-law Kathleen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Angie was also predeceased by her parents Peter and Anna (nee:Petronelli) Mazzilli, her son John A. Burti, and her brothers Fred Mazzilli, Otto Mazzilli and his wife Donna.
Visitation will be held on Friday February 20th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne.
Entombment will be on Saturday February 21st, at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
