D'Amico, Anna Assunta, (nee: Starita) 90, joined her parents, siblings and many other loved ones in heaven on Tuesday August 14th. Anna was a lifelong resident of Bayonne, New Jersey, born to Italian immigrants Giuseppe and Luisa (nee: Perralla) Starita in 1928, the fourth child and only one in her family to be born in the USA. She graduated Bayonne High School with honors and secured a position with Chase Bank in Manhattan where she was promoted to head bookkeeper. She married Alfred D'Amico in 1953 and a year later became a full-time mom to Charles, followed by Grace, Denise and Al. Anna supported her husband's business throughout her life, first answering his business phone at home when he was out on a job and then working by his side as the Vice President of Al D'Amico Sheet Metal, a Bayonne institution for over 50 years.
Anna was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a nurturing grandmother and great-grandmother. Married for 65 years, Anna and Al were and are the loves of their lives. Besides spending time with her husband, children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, Anna enjoyed cooking, playing cards with family after one of her amazing meals, phone chats with family and friends, and saying her rosary.
Anna is survived by her husband, Alfred D'Amico, and her four children: Charles D'Amico, Grace D'Amico, Denise Caputi and Alfred D'Amico, and their spouses. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. To have been loved by this woman was the greatest gift.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 16th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Migliaccio Funeral Home 851 Kennedy Blvd (at 33rd), Bayonne.
