I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of my mother Carole DeLuca (nee Mulligan) on 7/24/2020.

Ever the fighter, Carole battled and beat cancer on 5 separate occasions. She finally lost her fight to a devastating sixth occurrence. She passed peacefully in the presence of those she loved after a short home hospice.

Carole was born on December 14, 1943 in Bayonne where she lived until young adulthood and met her husband Peter T. DeLuca of Bayonne. She spent much of her adult life in Edison, NJ where she raised her two children Lance and Darren DeLuca.

Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Southport, NC where they enjoyed many years and many good friends.  She enjoyed tennis, bridge, bunko and was an avid reader. Carole was the kind of person who always gave one hundred percent of herself and put the needs of those she loved above her own.

She is survived by her husband Peter, son Darren, his wife Cori and their children Laci and Daniel; and son Lance and his wife Josie.

Funeral services will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Basking Ridge, NJ on Friday 7/31/2020 at 11:30am. Please be aware that the church has capacity for no more than 100 attendees and masks are required due to covid restrictions. We invite all in attendance to join us in a celebration of her life. Details of the repast to follow.

She will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ in a private service.
