Catherine Paonessa (nee: Nestico) 79, of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side. Catherine was born in Sant' Andrea, Ionio Cz, Italy and has lived in Bayonne since 1954. Catherine worked as a sewing machine operator at D&E Fashions in Bayonne for many years before retiring. She was also a member of the St. Ann's Society at Assumption Church. She was a beloved wife to the late Vito, a loving mother to Joseph and his wife Barbara, Gerard and his wife Maureen, Robert and Mary D'Agostino and her husband Michael. A cherished grandmother to Elyse, David, Danielle, Justin, Katherine, Andrea, Sarah, and Mark. A dear sister to Frank and Joseph Nestico and to Frances Cosentino, and Lina Andracchio. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Catherine was also predeceased by her parents Gerardo and Sapienza (nee: Carioti) Nestico, and her sister Luisa Hornyak. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd (at 33rd), Bayonne, (201) 436-5500. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 8:30 a.m., followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bayonne. Interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
