Cecil S. Withers Jr. - of Jersey City passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday January 15th 2014, he was 85 years old. Born in Gastonia, North Carolina, Cecil lived most of his life in Jersey City and worked for several years for Western Electric in Kearny before starting his own office cleaning service, Pamrapo Maintenance. Cecil was the devoted husband to the late Ellen (nee: Engroos) and loving father to David and his wife Kathy, Lori Glade and her husband Robert and to the late Michael Withers and the late Joan "Denise" McGovern. Cecil was also the cherished grandfather to Lisa Withers, Dana Whalen and her husband John, Michael Anton and Kerri Withers and was pre-deceased by his brother Robert Withers and sister Marie Walther and her husband Fred. Cecil is survived by his sister Patricia Moore, daughter-in-law Margaret "Peggy" Withers, and other in-laws Ruth Cannon, Joan Waters, Charles & Ann Engroos, Carole & Al Santulli and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday January 20th from 5-9 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. The family will visit again at the funeral home on Tuesday January 21st from 10 - 11:30 AM with a prayer service to begin there promptly at 11 AM. Cremation to follow will be private.
