Obituary

Saja - Charles S. - a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Monday April 15, 2013, he was 87 years old. Charles was the devoted husband of the late Edith R. (nee: Serpe) and is survived by his sister in law Josephine Serpe as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Charles worked for General Dynamics for 26 years as welding foreman and 10 years for the Boilermakers Local 316. He was a lifetime member of The D.A.V. Chapter 5 & The Catholic War Veterans Post 1612. He served his country in WW II with The Army's 8th Infantry Division and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, The Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/ 4 Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, WW II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, French Fourragere and The State of NJ Distinguished Service Medal. A visitation will be held on Thursday April 18th from 4-8 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be held on Friday April 19th at 9:30 AM at Assumption Church, 91 W. 23rd St in Bayonne with a interment to follow at Holy Name cemetery in Jersey City. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Charles' memory to The Catholic War Wets Post 1612.
