Cvetka Horvat, née Maras, passed away on October 23, 2026, at CareOne Assisted Living at The Cupola in Paramus, New Jersey. She was born on October 6, 1935, in Sali, Croatia, and lived a long life marked by faith, dedication, and deep family bonds.

For many years, Cvetka worked as the house manager for Judge Burns and his wife, serving with steady commitment until her retirement. She was also a devout Roman Catholic, and her faith remained an abiding presence throughout her life.

She is survived by her son, Jean Marie Horvat, and his spouse, Sarah; by her grandson, Gianni Nikko Horvat; by her granddaughter, Solea Gabrielle Horvat; and by her sister, Anka Maras. In the love of her family, and in the generations that follow her, her memory will continue to be cherished with gratitude and affection.

Cvetka was preceded in death by her brother, Ante Maras; her sister, Yelena Maras; her father, Anzalo Maras; and her mother, Carmela Rudan. Their memory remained part of the story of her life, and she now rests with those who went before her.

A Mass will be held at St. Henry's Church, 645 Avenue C, Bayonne, New Jersey 07002. All mourners are asked to meet directly at the church in the morning, as there will be NO services at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey 07306, with mausoleum entombment.
