David L. Simone - of Bayonne, passed away at his residence unexpectedly on Friday May 1, 2026, he was 64.  Born in Jersey City, NJ, David graduated from St. Peter's Prep in 1979 and entered the NYPD in 1980 and retiring as a NYPD Sergeant in 2002.  David was the devoted spouse to Pepsida Lopez-Simone, the loving father to Christopher Lopez and his wife Christina and the cherished grandfather to Julian Rivera, Edwyn & Christopher Lopez Jr.  David was pre-deceased by his parents Louis & Doris (nee: Makowski) Simone and surviving him are his siblings Carol, Kevin (Marybeth), Kenneth (Sigita), Jackie (Dr. Jack Farrington) & Howard (Ellen) Simone, as well as a host of other loving family members and dear friends who will all miss him.  David was cremated as per his family's wishes, however, there will be a memorial gathering and prayer service to celebrate David's life on Saturday May 30th from 12 - 2PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of any flowers, the family requests donations to be made in David's memory to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation which aids first responders and veterans in need.  This can be done directly by clicking the link below.
