Edward Francis Powers – a lifelong resident of Bayonne NJ, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Saturday November 25th 2017, he was 91 years old.  Edward was a proud veteran of World War II where he served in The US Navy.  Edward was the devoted husband to the late Carol (nee: LaPalerma) Powers and he was also the loving father to Joan, Thomas, Robert & John Powers.  Edward was pre-deceased by his brother Matthew Powers and surviving him is a host of other cherished family members and dear friends.  Visitation for Edward will be held on Tuesday November 28th from 10am – noon at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne, with a prayer service to be celebrated at the funeral home at approximately 11:45am.  Mausoleum entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.  In lieu of any flowers, the family asks that donation be made in Edward's memory to the J uvenile D iabetes R esearch F oundation (JDRF) with envelopes to be provided at the funeral home or with a link found on Edward's obituary page at www.MigliaccioFuneralHome.com.
