YURECKO, Edward, 78, a life long resident of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Thursday June 11th at the NYU-Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Edward spent his entire career as an educator working for the Irvington, NJ public school district from 1964 to 1995, where he served as the Supervisor of Mathematics. Prior to that he was the Mathematics Department Head at Irvington High School and a mathematics teacher. Edward was a graduate of Jersey City State College, and earned his masters degree in mathematics from Notre Dame University as a National Science Foundation fellow. He was a beloved husband to Rose Marie (née: Tondi), a loving father to Michele and Marybeth Yurecko, and to his son-in-law John Endahl. A cherished grandfather to Eva Rose and James Charles Endahl. Edward was predeceased by his parents Michael and Helen (née:Marcin) Yurecko, and his brother Michael. Edward was a devoted and active father and grandfather. He shared his love of the outdoors with his children, grandchildren and friends, particularly his passion for fishing and walking in the woods. He loved road trips and traveled throughout the United States with his wife Rose Marie and their family. He spent many years sharing his time and energy with the special needs community in Bayonne. In celebration of Edward's life, the family welcomes donations in his memory to The Windmill Center ( 141 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ 07002 ), an adult day training program serving nearly 40 developmentally disabled adults every day. Donations may also be made through their website ( www.windmillalliance.org ) or under Memorial Donation on the funeral home website. Cremation was private.
