Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Gaeta (nee:James), 81 of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at Jersey City Medical Center, on Sunday June 18
th
surrounded by her loved ones. Elizabeth was born and raised in Bayonne in 1935 to Elizabeth (nee: Hughes) and John James, who immigrated from Ireland and Wales. Betty lived in Bayonne, graduating from St. Andrew's grammar school and Holy Family Academy. Betty worked on Wall
S
treet for a few years, before working and retiring from the Bayonne Board of Education in Bayonne High School after 38 years as a secretary.
She was a beloved wife to the late Stephen Gaeta, and together they had three sons. She was a loving mother to the late John M. Gaeta, Thomas Gaeta, and Stephen and his wife Anita Gaeta. Cherished grandmother to Stephen Jr., Ashley, and Sean Gaeta. A dear sister to Vincent James and his wife Mercedes. Elizabeth was also predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth James, her brother John James, and her sister Maureen McHugh.
Visitation will be held on
Thursday June 22nd
from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the Migliaccio Funeral Home 851 Kennedy Blvd (at 33rd), Bayonne. A mass will be offered on
Friday June 23rd at 11:00am
at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew's Church, Bayonne. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home beginning at
10:00am
on
Friday June 23rd
, prior to mass.
