RILEY, Elmer W., 68, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday July 2nd. Elmer worked as a truck driver for Jay Dee Trucking in Jersey City for many years before retiring and then worked for the City of Jersey City School Crossing Guards. He was a beloved husband to Linda (nee: Clemens), a loving father to William Elmer Riley, Susan Wojtkowski and her husband Edward, Linda VanDerWeerden and her husband Peter. Cherished grandfather to Christopher John Gooch, Amanda Ashley VanDerWeerden, Andrew Joseph Wojtkowski, and Brandon John VanDerWeerden. Brother in law to Joe Capiello. Elmer was predeceased by his daughter Sandra M. Riley, his parents Elmer E. and Margaret (nee:Hastie) Riley Sr., his siblings Jim (Rita), Jackie (Clara), Donald Hastie and Margaret Cappiello. Visitation will be held Tuesday July 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Migliaccio Funeral Home 851 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne. A mass will be offered on Wednesday July 8th at 10:00am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 440 Hoboken Ave, Jersey City, Pastor Gary Grindeland, presiding. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:00am on Wednesday prior to mass. Cremation to follow will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elmer's memory to St. Paul's Church, or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes provided at the funeral home.
