Emilia Leston (nee: Pineiro) – of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday April 8th 2017 surrounded by her loving family, she was 90 years old. Born in Pindo Spain, Emilia immigrated to the United States on June 27th 1942 aboard the SS Marques de Comillas with her parents and brother when she was 15 years old. She worked as a seamstress for over 10 years at Maidenform in Bayonne and continued working at Pertform and several other garment shops in Bayonne before retiring. Emilia was a devout parishioner and longtime Rosarian at St. Andrew's Church in Bayonne, a parish whose many priests and people she adored. However, throughout her entire life, what meant most to Emilia was her family who all brought great joy to her. Emilia was the beloved and devoted wife to the late Jose Leston and the loving mother to John and his wife Betty and to Joseph and his wife Grace. She was the beloved grandmother to John and wife Alicia, Marisa Pilgrim and husband Jeff, Neil and wife Danielle, Joseph and wife Judie, J. Christian and wife Megan, Jaime Magi and husband Mike and to Jesse Lyn Leston, as well as being the cherished great grandmother to Alexa, Liam, Claire, Mia and Reese Leston. Emilia was pre-deceased by her parents Juan and Manuela Pineiro and surviving her are her brother Jack Piniero and his wife Patricia and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and dear friends. Visitations will be held on Monday April 10th from 7-9 PM and then again on Tuesday April 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 12th at 11 AM at St. Andrew's Church 125 Broadway (at 4th St.) in Bayonne with all welcome to gather at the funeral home starting at 10AM.
