Filomeno V. Scerbo – formerly of Jersey City, passed away peacefully at his residence in Toms River, NJ on Thursday May 30th 2024, he was 84.  Filomeno was the the Appetizing Manager for The Bayonne Shop- Rite for many years before his retirement.  He was the devoted husband to Betty Ann (nee: Haider) Scerbo , the loving father to Christine (nee; Scerbo) Scelippi and her husband Greg and to Denise (nee: Scerbo) Kearns and her husband Robert J. Kearns (Jersey City Chief of Police).  Filomeno was also the cherished grandfather to Brian Scelippi and his wife Kayla and to Susan Scelippi, as well as being the beloved great-grandfather to Lana Scelippi & Luca Gregory Scelippi.  He was pre-deceased by his parents Vincent & Faustina Scerbo and his brothers Anthony (Carol) & Vincent Scerbo.  Surviving Filomeno are his sister in law Lucy Ann Scerbo, and a whole host of other loving family members and dear friends.  Visitation will be held on Sunday June 2nd from 4-8 Pm at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne.  A funeral mass will then be celebrated on Monday June 3rd at 11:30am at Our Lady Of Mercy Church in Jersey City, with all welcome to gather at the funeral home starting at 10am to form a procession.  Mausoleum entombment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.  In lieu of flowers, PLEASE donate in Filomeno's memory to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation through a direct  link that can be found on his obituary page at www.MigliaccioFuneralHome.com.
