Frances Elizabeth Piccolo (nee: Forlenza) – of Bayonne, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, May 1st, 2017; she was 93.
Born on Staten Island, NY, Frances loved life. She could strike up conversations with anyone and make a friend. She had a smile that could light up a room and had the sharpest memory and quickest wit. Above all, Frances loved her family and found ways to care for them even while they cared for her.
Frances was the devoted wife to the late Joseph Piccolo Sr. and loving mother to Joseph Piccolo Jr. (Debra) and Marie Scrudato (Gaetano). Frances was the beloved grandmother to Jennifer Gontarz (Paul), Lori Pesnell (Aaron) and Salvator & Alyssa Scrudato, as well as being the cherished great grandmother "Golden Gram" to Landon & Aiden Pesnell. She was pre-deceased by her siblings Maurice & Rose and surviving Frances are her brothers Joseph & Michael Forlenza, her dear friend Florence "Flo" Maciaszek and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frances was an active member of the senior groups "Prime of Life" & "Young at Heart," a constant presence at The Bayonne Fire House's Senior Center Bingo and a devoted NY Yankees fan.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 4th from 4-8 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, May 5th at St. Mary's Church, 326 Avenue C in Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in N. Arlington.
