Frank P. Perrucci – of Bayonne passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday December 27th 2018. He was 91. Born in Brooklyn NY, Frank served his country proudly, as a member of the US Merchant Marines and later as a decorated member of The US Army during WWII where he received the American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. As a veteran, Frank was a major force with The Catholic War Veterans Post #1612 serving in every position over the years. He received the highest honor San Sebastian Award. Frank served twice as chairman of The Bayonne Memorial Day Parade and marched in over 65 parades. He was a member VFW Post #226, Disabled American Veterans, F.A. Mackenzie Post 165, American Legion and the Wounded Warrior Project among others. As a parishioner, Frank was an active member of The Assumption Parish in Bayonne for over 68 years. There he was a past president of The Holy Name Society, church usher and chairman of the Annual Church Carnival for 4 years.
In life, Frank distinguished himself as a Congressional Aide, Director of Community Development for Bayonne, acting Mayor, Secretary to the Warden, past president of Local 202 Laborer's International Union, a trustee of Hudson County Laborers Pension, Welfare and Vacation Fund and a past site inspector for Hudson County Community Development.
Frank always found the time to give back to his community. Among other achievements, he was a member of The NJ Conference for Community & Justice, Sons of Italy, Bayonne PAL, Bayonne Civic & Social League, The Knights of Columbus, AARP, NAACP, Bayonne Historical Society, Bayonne Hall of Fame, 9/11 Memorial Committee and the Standard Bearer of The Concerned Citizens of Bayonne for 46 years with accolades too numerous to mention.
Frank's greatest achievement however, was his family. Frank was the devoted husband to his constant companion and love of his life of over 67 years, Jean (nee: Baccarella) Perrucci. He was the loving father to Frank C. Perrucci, Roseann Pona & husband Joe, Linda Altebrando & husband Joe and to the late Maria Perrucci and was beloved grandfather to Christie & Joseph Pona, Jaclyn Altebrando-Rego & husband Andrew and to Michael, Geena, Michele & Loryn Altebrando. Frank is survived by his brother Vincent Perrucci and a host of other loving family members and many, many dear friends. Visitation is Wednesday January 2nd from 3-8PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 Kennedy Blvd. in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:45AM on Thursday January 3rd at St. Henry's Church in Bayonne with all welcome to gather at the funeral home starting at 9:30AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. In lieu of any flowers the family requests donations be made in Frank's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital with envelopes provided at the funeral home or with a link found at www.MigliaccioFuneralHome.com. The family would also like to personally thank John Nicaretta, Ted Connelly and so many of Frank's friends who were always there for him.
