Gaetano "Guy" Alessi – of Bayonne, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his, side on Saturday, December 7th 2024, he was 85.

Gaetano Alessi's legacy is one of strength, love, and dedication. Born in San Giovanni Gemini, Sicily in 1939 he believed in the American Dream and worked and provided just that for all his family. He was a builder by trade but didn't just build structures; he built a foundation of values, respect, and responsibility that we can wholeheartedly look to for guidance. This foundation is a testament to him and will be our guidepost within each of our own families carrying this tradition with us always.

Gaetano helped more people than we could ever recount and those that knew him would surely agree and have similar stories to share. Those stories are those of his exemplary goodwill and kindness and always doing what was right despite the hardship. He was always there to lend folks support and a helping hand.

Gaetano was not only the beloved husband to Maddalena, but was also the devoted father to Vincent & Susan Alessi, Salvatore & Frances Alessi, Gaetano Alessi Jr., Nancy Alessi and  to Francesco & Rosanne Alessi,  as well as being the cherished grandfather; to Vincent G. Alessi, Alessandro Alessi,  Salvatore Alessi Jr.,  Gabriela Alessi,  Gianna Alessi, Adriana Alessi, Sofia Alessi, Giuliana Alessi, Alessia M. Morgan, Francesca R. Alessi, Anastasia Alessi, and Gaetano R. Alessi.

Gaetano's life and legacy is a true testament to the power of love, dedication, and the enduring strength of family.

At Gaetano's and his family's request, and with their gratefulness for your respect in that decision, The burial service held on Tuesday December 10th 2024 for Gaetano at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, was PRIVATE .

However, the family does invite everyone to attend a memorial mass in celebration of Gaetano's life, at 11AM on Saturday February 15th 2025 (the day before what would have been his 86th birthday), at St. Henry's Church, 82 West 29th Street in Bayonne.

In lieu of any flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gaetano's memory to the "Gesu Nazareno Society",  this can be done by mailing your donation to P.O.
