On Friday, September 2nd, surrounded by family, Georgina Ciszewski (Martinez), 88, entered eternal life. She passed in her Walpole, Ma home after a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer.
Formerly of Bayonne, NJ, Georgina lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love. She was first and foremost a wife and a mother to her beloved husband, the late Michael Ciszewski, as well as her children, Joseph Perez and wife Jill, Elizabeth Jackson and husband Michael, Lisa Branch and the late Kathleen Kushnir.
Georgina enjoyed crocheting sweaters, scarfs, and blankets for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also an avid crafter, gifting family beautiful wreaths and festive decorations.
When her children were young, she was involved in many clubs and organizations throughout Bayonne that centered around their school work as well as community endeavors. With rife passion and an entrepreneurial spirit, Georgina built a successful breakfast and lunch establishment "City Hall Luncheonette" which was often filled with many happy customers from City Hall, the Bayonne Fire and Police Headquarters. She also served her community for many years as a volunteer at Bayonne Medical Center.
Georgina later returned to serving the community when she accepted a position as a special needs aide at the A. Harry Moore Laboratory School. Recognizing her fluency in Spanish and the growth in Latino families needing support, the principal received approval to create the special position of translator for her, which she enjoyed until her retirement.
An avid traveler, Georgina enjoy many trips with her husband throughout the United States and Caribbean Islands, visiting family and friends.
Georgina was preceded by her parents, Richard Martinez and Odilia Nazario, her sister, Mary Ortiz, her brother James Matinez, her husband Michael Ciszewski and her daughter Kathleen Kushnir.
She is survived by her children Joseph Perez, Elizabeth Jackson and Lisa Branch and her eight grandchildren, Jamie Lyn Geduldick, Jimmy Geduldick and wife Dina, Cristen Decourcey and husband Jon, Michael Perez, Jessica Jackson, Melissa Jackson, Alexa Branch and Brian Perez, as well as seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Through her 88 years, Georgina brought humor, joy, and warmth to all, especially her family. Her outgoing and caring spirit, sharp wit and loving smile will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georgina Ciszewski's name to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 9th, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne. A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday September 10th at 10:30am at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew's Church, 125 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ. 07002 .
Burial Service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ.
