Jabari Haseem Leitner, age 44, passed from this life into eternal life on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Bayonne Medical Center in Bayonne, NJ. He was born on August 12, 1980 to Samuel Joseph Leitner (Shatehete) and Donna Currington-Dilworth.

He is survived by his wife, Jillian Marie Leitner, his two beautiful children, Samuel Josiah Leitner and Sarah Jubilee Leitner, as well as his mother Donna, brother Jelani Dilworth, his Aunt Terrie Flowers and cousins LeKecia, Kendric and Kristoffer Flowers, Akil Biglow, Scott Mitchell, and Jeremiah and Madison Flowers as well as a host of other cousins and friends who were like family such as Benjamin and Hyacinth Stevens and Nick Samuels.

At the age of 5, Jabari with his mother, moved from Florida to the Bronx, NY. He spent his days surrounded by cousins who were more like siblings. From the Bronx he moved to Queens, NY, in August 2013. On September 21st, 2013 he married Jillian Marie (Stevens) Leitner.

Jabari truly loved life. Those who knew him would always find him laughing or telling a joke. He would often remark that those who thought Christians were rigid, never met him and his friends. Jabari loved watching funny cat videos and even if you didn't want it, he would share these videos with those he was closest too, all day long. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband and father. His wife always said, Jabari made it easy to love him. If he was not spending time with his family, helping teach his son martial arts maneuvers or letting his daughter paint his nails and taking her to princess events, he was spending time talking to others about his family and about the Lord. More than anything, Jabari loved the Lord. Wherever he went, whatever he did, he always found himself in a discussion about God. He loved to teach about the Lord and it was truly his gift. His greatest desire in life was to be used by the Lord to the fullest extent possible and he sought opportunities to be used.

We can be assured the Lord welcomed Jabari by saying "well done my good and faithful servant".
