James S. Pondillo – a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Thursday April 13 ^th 2023, he was 71.  James was an avid fisherman and a respected teacher and football coach for Bayonne High School for many years before his retirement.  He was the devoted husband to the late Colette (nee: Burke) Pondillo, the loving father to Carin Pondillo & to James Pondillo and his wife Lindsay, as well as being the cherished grandfather to Cayla Johnson, Isabella, James G., Max & Sadie Pondillo.  James was pre-deceased by his brother John and sister Geraldine Hojnacki (Joe) and he is survived by a multitude of other loving family members and dear friends.  Visitation for James will be held on Sunday April 16 ^th from 3-7PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 JFK Blvd. (at 33 ^rd St.) in Bayonne.  James will be entombed with his beloved wife on Monday April 17 ^th at 12:45PM at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington, with all welcome to gather at the funeral home to follow in procession at 11AM.  In lieu of any flowers the family requests donations be made in James' memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital with envelopes provided at the funeral home or through a direct link found on his obituary page at www.MigliaccioFuneralHome.com .
