Jean Ahern (nee: Esposito) - a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Friday September 4th 2015, she was 95. Jean was a kind, loving, caring person who was a member of St. Mary's Golden Agers. She loved her family and loved to cook and bake for them. She also enjoyed crocheting many blankets for her family. Jean is the last remaining of four siblings, and she will be remembered for her time and devotion to her family. She was the devoted wife to the late Daniel Ahern and they were happily married for 70 years. Jean was the loving mother to the late Daniel Ahern and his wife, Sophie (surviving), Ben Ahern and his wife, Sharon, Carol Ahern, and Barbara Gelenites and her husband, John. Jean was the beloved grandmother to Michael and his wife, Meg, Daniel and his wife, Tina, and Todd Ahern, Melissa Bock and her husband, Brian and Thomas, Michelle & James "Jimmy" Gelenites and great grandmother to Michael & Maggie Ahern ,Brett & Ryan Bock, and Matthew Candido. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Many thanks to her dedicated caretakers, Valerie Velasco, Elizabeth Rivera, and Cora Tiamson, who took such good care of her. In her younger days, Jean worked at Maidenform and Norton and Sons in Bayonne. Visitation is Monday September 7th from 4-7 pm at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd.(at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 8th beginning at 10 am at St. Mary's Church, 326 Avenue C in Bayonne with all welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9 am. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jean's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, with envelopes provided at the funeral home or with a link found at www.migliacciofuneralhome.com
