Obituary

Jean "Jeanie" Marie Walker, 65, formerly of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ on August 18, 2021. After graduating from Bayonne High School, Jeanie went to work at the United States Postal Service, as a mail handler, for many years. She was a devoted daughter to the late Calvin Walker, Sr. and Dorothy Dean (née:Glover) Walker, a loving sister to Calvin Walker Jr., Monica Walker, Nadine Walker, Malcolm Worrell Jr., Yolanda Worrell, Evonne Worrell-Heyward and her husband Kimbel, Tonya Worrell and Sandra Worrell. Jeanie was also predeceased by her sister Michele Walker-Riley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, an aunt, and cousins. Jeanie is remembered for her devotion to family by becoming a guardian and care-giver to her siblings and an inspiration to her nieces and nephews. She is also remembered for her kind heart, thoughtfulness, and strength over adversity. Lastly, Jeanie is most known and will be remembered for her phenomenal athletic abilities, excelling in two sports: basketball and softball. Using her amazing athletic abilities, Jeanie also played on various sports teams and used her knowledge and expertise by becoming a coach. Jeanie touched many lives and was loved by all who knew her.

Cremation was private. Jeanie will be interred alongside her mother, Dorothy Dean.  A private memorial and celebration of Jeanie's life will be held for the family.
