Joan Hearn Calianese, a native of Jersey City and long-time resident of Bayonne, passed away on Thursday February 9th 2023. Joan was the loving wife of Alessandro Calianese, Ph.D. for 66 years.  Proud mother of Beth McPartland (Sean), D.B. (Debbie), Judy Caputo (Roland), David (Phyllis), Alex (Cherie). Loving grandmother to Sean (Heather), Patrick, Catherine, Harry, Anders, Isa, David Charles (Caroline), Nicole, Natalie, Brielle, Madison. Dear Aunt to Ellen Short (Corry) and family. Retired nurse Supervisor of Visiting Homemakers of Hudson County.  She was a nursing graduate of Jersey City Medical Center and received her Bachelors from New Jersey City University. The focus of Joan's life was her family and helping others. Joan was a devout Catholic and lived a life of service. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 14th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne. A Prayer Service will be offered at 7:30pm on Tuesday evening  for Joan at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to Visiting Homemakers Service of Hudson County 1919 Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen NJ 07047. Private Cremation to follow.
