John M. Setaro - a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2014, he was 87 years old. John was a mechanic at Maidenform for many years before retiring. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and he was an active member of The CWV Post 1612 in Bayonne. John was the devoted husband of 66 years to Francis (nee: Nalesnik) and the loving father to Anita Setaro and her husband Angelo Bassillo, Mark and wife Angela, John and the late Judy Setaro-Sherman. John was also the beloved grandfather to Jacqueline, Mark, Carly, Lorene, James, & Katy and great grandfather to Sophia, Francesca and Celia. John is survived by his sister Eleanor Manno and many dear friends. Visitation was held yesterday but a funeral mass will be celebrated this morning Monday, April 14th at 10:45 AM at St. Henry's Church, 645 Avenue C in Bayonne with mourners gathering at the funeral home beginning at 9:45 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
