Jose Ramon
Ongay
July 15, 1961 – April 25, 2025
Jose Ramon Ongay, of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Jose was born on July 15, 1961, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Ramon and Elia Ongay. He passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family.
Jose lived a full and meaningful life. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, including active duty during Desert Storm. As a proud veteran, he was deeply honored to serve his country and carried that pride with him throughout his life.
Jose was a devoted family man who deeply loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had a lifelong passion for sports—not only as a fan, but also through his active involvement in his children's games and activities. He rarely missed a game or event, and his presence, encouragement, and competitive spirit meant the world to his family. Known for his outgoing personality and love of connecting with others, Jose had an infectious energy that made him a friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his mother, Elia Ongay; his beloved wife, Lourdes; his four children, Sofia, Joseph, Julian, and Mia; and his five cherished grandchildren, Elijah, Lisa, Shai, Dominic, and Kali. He is also survived by his sisters, Lisa Siletti (and her husband Daniel), and Sandra Russo (and her husband Gordon), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Ongay.
