Obituary

Joseph "Peppi" Morreale died on January 18, 2020 at the age of 90. Peppi was born on April 17, 1929, in Bayonne, NJ, to Olivia (nee: Greco) and Salvatore Morreale. A professional pianist and true entertainer, Peppi spent his life sharing his music and zest for life.

He graduated Bayonne High School in 1947, then spent three years, ten months and five days in the Army stationed at West Point as a member of the West Point Band.  During his career, Peppi served as the accompanist for Don Cornell, conductor for Carol Channing, and with his trio played across the country in venues including the Mermaid Room (Park Sheraton, New York), Sands Hotel (Las Vegas), Gurney's Inn (Montauk), and Chuck and Harold's (Palm Beach). Peppi recorded his album The More You Drink the Better I Sound in 1966.

Peppi was predeceased by his parents, his brothers; James, Jack, and Nino, and his sister, Josephine. He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Morreale Panariello,  granddaughters, Danielle and Natalie Panariello, niece Jean Militello Reid, several other nieces and nephews, and special friend Jesus Marcovichi.

There will be a celebration of his life at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 JFK Blvd. in Bayonne on Saturday, January 25th from 2-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Peppi's memory to BHS Marching Band with envelopes provided at the funeral home.  Or mail the donation directly to BHS Band at 667 Avenue A, Bayonne, NJ 07002.  Attn: Tim Craig.
