Joseph J. Pompeo - 91, of Bayonne, passed away on Thursday December 11th 2014. Born in Jersey City, Joseph proudly served in The Navy during WWII and was a mail carrier for many years before retiring. Joseph was the devoted husband to the late Mary Josephine (nee: Iorio) and beloved father to Joseph M. Pompeo and wife Carolyn of Montvale, Mary Jo Pompeo of DelRey Beach FL. and to Michele Pompeo-Shalhoub and husband Edward of Toms River. Joseph was also the loving grandfather and pop-pop to Joseph P. and Mark Pompeo and to Edward and Mary Kate Shalhoub. Joseph was pre-deceased by his brothers Modesto and Nicholas and surviving him are many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday December 14th from 2-4 pm and again from 7-9 pm at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday December 15th beginning promptly at 9:30 am at Assumption Church, 91 W. 23rd St. in Bayonne with family and friends invited to meet at the funeral home at 8:30 am.
