Joy Dechert (nee: Mace) - 75, of Bayonne passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday December 2nd 2014. Born in New York City and formerly of Jersey City, Joy was a past president of The PTA for both Wakeman Elementary and Dickinson H.S. and held a seat on The Hudson County Board of Education. Joy was the beloved wife to the late Edward Dechert and loving mother to John Stephen and his fiancé Lori, Terryann, Edward and Michele Dechert and cherished grandmother to Christina Theresa, Jessica, Gregoree, Ashley, Stephanie and Elijah Dechert and great grandmother to Arianna Cosme. A visitation will be held for Joy on Friday December 5th from 5-9 pm at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne with a prayer service to be celebrated at the funeral home beginning promptly at 8 pm. Cremation to follow will be private, so all services end at the funeral home on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joy's memory to The Madeline F.
