GERENA, Laura (nee:Barreto) of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 8th at the Palisade Medical Center in North Bergen. Laura was a beloved wife to the late Miguel A. Gerena, a loving mother to Michael Gerena (Myrna), Vilma Suarez (Eddie), Deborah Varsalona (the late Peter), Aimmie Scanlon (David). A cherished grandmother to Eddie Michael and Derek Suarez, Chad and Jack Scanlon, Peter, Laura, Elise and Lia Varsalona, Diana and Robert Gerena, and to Lisa, Rolando, and Wanda Gerena. Laura is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Laura was also predeceased by her parents Buenaventura and Eleuteria (nee:Matias) Barreto. Visitation will be held on Monday July 13th from 10:00am to 12:00pm, followed by Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
