Letitia Catherine "Joy" Dowling (nee: Manetti) - of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 7, 2014, she was 79 years old. Born on June 22, 1934 at Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City, to parents Peter and Mary Manetti (nee: D'Amato) Letitia was the devoted wife to the late Edward Dowling and the loving mother to sons Edward, Michael, Daniel and wife Ronda, and Timothy. Letitia was also the cherished grandmother to Amanda, Daniel, Ian, Seth and Annah Dowling. She is survived by her sister Grace Murphy and brother-in-law Thomas Murphy and their daughters Eileen, Maureen, Beth Ann, and Peggy. Letitia was known for her caring ways and positive attitude that matched her nickname "Joy". Joy was fond of poetry, dancing, singing, and camping with her family. Joy was a graduate of Saint Andrews School and Holy Family Academy in Bayonne. She was a long time member of Saint Andrews Parish, the Rosary Society, and Concerned Citizens in Bayonne. Joy spent many years working in banking and was a manager at Pamrapo Savings in Bayonne when she retired. Joy lived a life of Family, Faith, and Forgiveness. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12th from 4-8 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, January 13th at 9:45 AM with a funeral mass to commence at 10:45AM at St. Andrew's Church, 125 Broadway (at 4th St.) in Bayonne with interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.
