Lisa Marie Cherchio was born to John and Denise Cherchio in Bayonne, NJ. She attended St. Dominic's Academy, The Killington Mountain School in Vermont (where she excelled in Ballet Skiing) and received a degree from Keene College in New Hampshire. Upon graduating, she pursued her academic passion for English, with a focus on Shakespeare, and Acting. Lisa bravely uprooted herself from NJ and moved to California to Act and finally returned to New Jersey to write and produce a Shakespearean play in New York City.
Lisa will be missed for her wonderful spirit, wit, love of family and her contagious sense of humor. She was a talented writer who would often gift poems for birthdays/celebrations, and if you were lucky enough to receive poetry from Lisa, it was something you would treasure forever.
.
When you think of Lisa, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is short, fragile and should be lived to the fullest. Lisa was afflicted with Bipolar Disorder which she struggled with everyday. Someday there will be a cure, however, for now, we must be supportive and compassionate to all those who struggle with mental illness, as much as we support those suffering from cancer or other debilitating diseases.
Lisa is preceded in death by her mother Denise Cherchio.
