Louis Vincent Gomez Jr. - formerly of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital on Sunday April 12th 2026, he was 78.  Louis was a realtor and real estate appraiser, but Louis' real passion was was being a lifelong musician and singer.  His amazing skills on the drums and beautiful soulful voice entertained countless people for over 70 years.  Louis was part of many bands throughout his career, such as Hudson County, The Ohio Express, Heaven's Choice, Sounds of the Street, and Parkside Symphony.  Louis loved putting smiles on peoples faces and getting them out on the dance floor.  He also loved the beach and fishing and was a published author who penned his own biography, "Almost Famous".  Louis was the beloved husband and partner to Cheryl (nee: Mascola) Gomez, a loving father to Louis and Brandon Gomez, a cherished grandfather to Charlie & Lola Gomez, a beloved father in law to Paige Gomez, an adored big brother to Richard and his wife Cathy, Donald and his wife Barbara, and to his favorite sister Donna Gomez, and was a favorite Uncle to many nieces & nephews.  A private cremation was already held for Louis, but a memorial service and celebration of Louis' life will be held on Wednesday April 22nd from 5-9PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne.  In lieu of any flowers the family requests that donations be made in Louis' memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, which can be done directly by clicking the link on this page.
