Maitland Hamilton Jackson - Maitland was born on June 11th, to the late Robert St. Clair Jackson and Augusta (nee Bush) Jackson. A lifelong resident of Bayonne, he passed away peacefully at Bayonne Medical Center with family and friends by his side on December 15th, 2011. He was 92 years old. Maitland retired from I.C.I. America Inc. in Bayonne and Belle & Belle Investments of Jersey City. He was also an Army Veteran who proudly served his country in WW II. He has been a member of Flournoy-Gethers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7470 for 62 years serving in a multitude of leadership positions including Service Officer for 25 years, Post Commander for five terms and the Deputy Inspector for District #3 for more than 10 years. In addition to his veteran's activities, he was a loyal 4th Degree Knight of the Bayonne Knights of Columbus Council #371. Maitland was the recipient of the 2004 NAACP Veterans Affairs Award as well as being honored for his community service in 2009 by the City of Bayonne. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 60 years Ann Arneta (nee Broady), devoted daughter Sharon Arneta Ann Jackson - Belle, son-in-law Chris Bobby Belle and brother Harold Jackson. He is survived by his beloved granddaughters Angelique Arneta Ann and Colette Sharon Jackson- Belle, brothers Robert & Karl Jackson; sisters-in law Greta & Edith Jackson; nieces Eileen Frierson, Karla Jackson-Brewer, Rosalind Burch, Melody, Kim and Karen Jackson; nephews Keith, Leon and Ronald Jackson & good friend John Bintz. Visitation will be Tuesday December 20th from 4-8pm at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd), Bayonne. A mass will be offered on Wednesday December 21st at 10:45 AM at St Andrew's Church Bayonne. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.
