Obituary

Gonzalez, Manuel Antonio - of Bayonne passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends on Sunday, February 23rd. He was 77 years old. Born in O Pindo, Galicia, Spain, Manuel Antonio was a barber by trade and immigrated to the U.S. in 1961 to live the American Dream. His first job was working at Roma Barbershop at 32nd street and Broadway for Vito Paonessa in Bayonne. He then went on to work for the Bayonne Board of Education for 25 years until his retirement in 1998. Manuel was the devoted husband to Maria (nee: Rama) and the loving father to Robert (wife Robin) and Anthony (wife Christie). He was also the beloved grandfather to Joshua, Jake, AJ. and Giuliana. Manuel was pre-deceased by his parents Maria & Juan and his brother Jose Ramon and is survived by his brothers Juan (wife Herminia) and Joaquin (wife Providencia) and his sisters Dina (husband Jervasio), Nieves (husband Manuel) and Maria as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and lasting friends. Cremation was private. A visitation will be held on Sunday March 2nd from 2-5 p.m. culminating with a prayer service to begin promptly at 5 p.m. at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Manuel Antonio's memory to The American Heart Association.
