IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Manuel
Pineiro
September 8, 1934 – November 27, 2024
Manuel Pineiro of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at the age of 90.
Born in Caldebarcos, Carnota, La Coruña, Spain, Manuel arrived in the United States in 1939 at the age of 5, journeying through Ellis Island with his mother and younger brother. Bayonne became his lifelong home, where he built a remarkable life rooted in love, hard work, and community.
Manuel's life was defined by his devotion to his family. He was the devoted husband of 65 years to Maria, whom he adored and cherished until her passing in 2021. Together, they created a family that was the center of his world. Manuel was the beloved father to son Joe Pineiro (Gwen), daughter Maria Pineiro Karczewski (Robert Schmidt), and son Juan Pineiro (Veronica). His family was his greatest pride, and he poured his love and wisdom into their lives.
Manuel's legacy extends through his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride: Alaina Pineiro Harrington (Mark), Amanda Pineiro Nguyen (Daniel), Richard Karczewski (Jessica), Joseph Karczewski (Jessica), Marissa Pineiro Sisk (Beau), and Jon Pineiro (Courtney). He was also the adoring great-grandfather of Logan, Ella, and Maya Karczewski; Madison Karczewski; and Olivia Nguyen.
Manuel worked hard all his life, embodying the spirit of a self-made man. After early years at Colgate-Palmolive in Jersey City, NJ, and Burry's Biscuit Corporation in Elizabeth, NJ, Manuel enjoyed great success in real estate. As a landlord, he was beloved by tenants who respected his attentiveness and warmth. His success was built on integrity and perseverance, leaving a legacy that will endure for generations.
Manuel's impact on those who knew him cannot be overstated. His humor, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but always remembered.
Manuel was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Maria Pineiro, and his brother, Michael Pineiro. He is survived by his sister, Primera Josephine ("PJ") Pineiro Lobbe (Arthur) of Boca Raton, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends in the United States and Spain.
