Obituary

Marguerite Lucille Cecilia Regina Smith (née LoCascio), age 83, peacefully ascended to Our Heavenly Father at home surrounded by many loved ones on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021 in the early afternoon hours. She was born on June 28th, 1937 and was a lifelong Bayonne resident.

Marguerite is joyously reunited with her much beloved parents Jack B.  LoCascio and Anna Frances LoCascio (née Brennan), who entered the Kingdom of Heaven many years before her, and who, like Marguerite, were devout Roman Catholics. She is also predeceased by her many dear siblings: Francis LoCascio, Jacqueline Piesco (née LoCascio), Joan McHugh (née LoCascio), Maryse Angelucci (née LoCascio), Patricia Locascio (née LoCascio), Jack A. LoCascio, William LoCascio, Joseph LoCascio, Edward LoCascio. She is also predeceased by two of her beloved grandchildren; Donna Toczynski and Christopher Murphy, as well as one precious great grandson, Romeo Xavier.

Marguerite is survived by her last remaining sibling, her sister Maureen LoCascio. She is also survived by her most prized possession and crowning achievement (as told by her to the world), her five daughters and four sons: Jack Kevin Smith, Kathy Toczynski (née Smith), Frank R. Smith, Loretta McHugh (née Bossert; and her loving husband Kevin McHugh), Francis R. Bossert, Marguerite L. Murphy (née Bossert), Arthur S. Bossert III (and his loving wife Elke Bossert-née Hassler), Mabel M. Kosakowski (née Bossert), and Donna L. Leszewski (née Smith), as well as scores of her beloved "26" grandchildren, whom she treasured and adored, and instilled her truly loving nature along with the wealth of all her life's incredible knowledge, creativity, skill, warmth, kindness, generosity and general goodness of humanity, all of which she thoroughly embodied.

Marguerite is also survived by "22" great grandchildren, all of whom she felt so blessed and proud to have been able to know and love in her lifetime, as well as the "24th" great grandchild...a grandson, which she was aware was to be born on what would have been her 84th birthday, June 28th, 2021 . Additionally, she is survived by many,  many nieces and nephews.

Marguerite attended Bayonne High School and Bailey Ellard Private Academy. She was a very skilled and accomplished seamstress for a large portion of her life, as well as an avid crafter and exceptional writer. She was the proud recipient of two awards for her literary works, one of which was the "John F. Kennedy Award For Outstanding Achievement" For Conveying a Better Understanding of The American Way of Life, which was awarded to her by The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge in 1954. In recent years she authored two novels, both of which will be published posthumously in her honor by her children in the near future. She also was a lifelong lover of Rock n' Roll and virtually "all things music", encompassing a wide variety of genres throughout many decades. She also was especially proud of her heritage, and of having had a great grandfather who was a well known and accomplished opera singer in Palermo, Sicily. But mostly, to her, it was her children that were her masterpiece, which she spent a lifetime crafting to the very best of her ability, and she was so proud of each and every little thing about each one of them.

Marguerite has left behind such a vast and wonderful legacy in so many areas, and a literal "abundance of life" and everything that it is composed of, which lives on inside of our hearts, minds and souls for all of eternity. May God Our Father wrap her in his eternal grace and love, and grant her Peace Everlasting. Until we meet her again in Heaven… We Love You More Than Any Words Could Ever Fully Express Our Gorgeous, Loving, and Beautiful Mommy and Nanny ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
