ALFONSO, Maria Claudette (nee:Romano) 84, of Bayonne. Maria was born January 20th, 1933 at Margaret Hague Hospital to Samuel "Curly" Romano and Maddalena (nee: Pietro) Romano. A graduate of Ferris High School, she was employed by Phoenix Insurance Co., located in N.Y.C., until her marriage to Frank Alfonso at St. Paul's Church in Jersey City on September 23, 1961. After being trained by a registered nurse, Maria was self-employed as a caretaker for cancer patients. A devoted member of the Catholic Faith, she proudly served as a Eucharistic Minister for 29 years, and as Lector and Senior Altar Server. Maria was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1990. Surviving Maria is her beloved cousin Linda Horvath , Aunt Jennie Castro, and Uncle Guy Castro. Treasured friend of Janice and Andres Machin and family, Karen Shaneen , Lee Wynning , and Marge Krupski .

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 2nd from 9:00 to 10:45am at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne. A mass will be offered also on Thursday at 11:00am at St. Henry's Church, Bayonne. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
