Maria Aurora Estevez, born in Havana, Cuba and a long-time resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at the age of 79.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Maria lived a life of kindness and unwavering love for her family. She found her greatest joy in raising her son, whose happiness and accomplishments brought her endless pride. Maria embraced her role as a grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren, who filled her life with laughter and light.

She loved cooking for her loved ones, keeping her home warm and welcoming and spending time with family and friends.

Maria is survived by her son, Yasser Fernandez, his wife, Genny Vargas-Fernandez, her two grandchildren, Christian and Daniel Fernandez; her brother, Alfredo Aguiar (Antoinette); her sister,Diana Aguiar; her four nieces (Melissa, Brianna, Priscilla, Natalie) and four step-grandchildren (Aydenis, Javier, Liana, Leah).

She was preceded in death by her mother, Amelia Aguiar and step-daughter, Ana Fernandez. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday December 16th from 6-8PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne.
