Maria Pineiro (nee: Quintela) of Bayonne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 13, 2021.  She was 84 years old.

Born in Caldebarcos, La Coruna, Spain, Maria arrived to the United States in 1956 and was a Bayonne resident ever since. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Manuel and Manuela Quintela and by her siblings, Miguel, Daniel and Jose Quintela.

Maria was the devoted wife of 65 years to Manuel Pineiro and beloved mother to son, Joe Pineiro (Gwen), daughter, Maria Pineiro Karczewski; and son, Juan Pineiro (Veronica).

Maria was also the loving grandmother to Alaina Pineiro Harrington (Mark), Amanda Pineiro, Richard Karczewski (Jessica), Joseph Karczewski (Jessica), Marissa Pineiro, and Jon Pineiro. Maria was also the adoring great-grandmother to Logan Karczewski.

Surviving Maria are her siblings Luisa, Ramona, Virtudes, Manuel, and Carmen, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends both in the United States and in Spain.

Visitation will be from 7:30am to 9:15am on Thursday, February 18 ^th at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.), Bayonne, NJ 07002, (201) 436-5500; followed by a 9:30am funeral mass at St. Henry's Church, located at 645 Avenue C in Bayonne.
