Mercedes De Rojas (nee: Pujols Peguero) – of Bayonne, formerly of Dominican Republic, passed away peacefully at her residence with her loving family by her side on Saturday November 16th 2024, she was 96.  Mercedes worked as a childcare provider for many years before her retirement.  She was the devoted mother to Nestor Figuereo (Sandra), Maria M. Figuereo (the late Rafael), Maria J. Pujols and Gianne Pujols (Buenaventura Rodriguez), the beloved grandmother to 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Mercedes was pre-deceased by her siblings and surviving her is her brother Dionicio Pujols Peguero (Mirina) and a whole host of other loving family members and dear friends both here and in Dominican Republic.  A visitation and prayer service for Mercedes will be held on Saturday November 23rd from 4-8PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne.  She will then be laid to rest at her family's plot in Dominican Republic.  In lieu of any flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mercedes Memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which can be done directly by clicking the "Memorial Donation" tab below.
