Michael Peter Ciano - a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away peacefully at his residence with his loved ones by his side on Tuesday December 12, 2023,  at the age of 77.  Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather who lovingly cared for others.   Michael was the devoted husband to Susanne (nee: Battaglia), the beloved father to Michael (Elizabeth), Peter (Diane) and Suzannah Hiles and her late husband Todd.  He was also the cherished grandfather (Pop Pop) to Isabella and Peter Ciano and is survived by his loving family and friends.  After working at Shelly's Supermarket and retiring from The NJ Turnpike Authority where he would always back up traffic as motorists would look for his lane to see his familiar face and have a brief moment of conversation.  Michael loved simple things in life, like a trip to Amish Country in Pennsylvania or to Cape May with his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years Susanne. Michael will be remembered as a hard working, loving, caring, and compassionate man who sacrificed so much to make a better life for his family and those around him.

Fly high with eagles Michael, you will be forever missed, but never forgotten.

A visitation and prayer service will be held from 11am - 1pm on Tuesday December 19th at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne with interment to immediately follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.  In lieu of any flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which can be done by clicking the "Memorial Donation" tab below.
