Michael E. Murphy, 57 of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2023. Michael was a devoted single father to his beloved sons, Mac Murphy and Michael Murphy Jr, Cherished son to his mother, Nancy E (Carson) Murphy, Cherished brother to his sister Megan M Murphy, and brother to James Murphy, beloved nephew of Madeline and Bob Wianecki. Also survived by his grandpuppies Taz and Shadow, and dog Nephew, Presley. His best friend of 22 years, Kevin Fennessy along with hundreds of deaf friends across the country. He will be dearly missed by all of his Aunts and Uncles and cousins whom he shared so many incredible hugs, laughs and childhood memories.
Michael worked for Al Terry's Shoprite on grocery crew for 20 years. As well as Blimpie Base on Broadway in Bayonne. He attended Millburn School for the Deaf, Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington DC where he excelled as Class President, over all "loverboy" with the ladies, Quarterback of the football team, started the first Racquetball club and as president organized tournaments for deaf students. Michael continued on to Gallaudet college in Washington DC.He was very active in the deaf community.
Michael was considered "Superman" to his family and will be dearly missed for his easy going ways and his humor. Funeral services are private. A memorial poker game will be organized in his memory in the fall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gallaudet College for the Deaf in memory of Michael E Murphy,
