Withers, Michael Carl - born in 1955 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Bea and Cecil Withers. He died on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, 2012 after a long struggle with a chronic illness. Michael leaves, to cherish his memories a loving wife, Peggy, daughter Lisa, daughter and son-in-law, Dana and John Whalen. He also leaves his father Cecil, siblings David (and wife Kathy, daughter Kerri, son Mike), and Lori Glade (and husband Bob). Michael was pre-deceased by his mother, Bea and sister, Denise. Michael also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special dog, Beau. Michael was a talented carpenter and contractor who worked in many different states. At several times in his career he owned and operated local contracting businesses. In 1999, he took great pride in accepting a position with Home Depot on Route 440, Jersey City. He enjoyed the Department Manager position he held, the company, and all of the people he interacted with; fellow Home Depot associates, customers, and contractors alike. Michael was an avid NASCAR fan, Yankees fan, and NY Giant fan. Michael will be missed by all who knew him. Michael's favorite charities include Victory Junction Gang Camp, Gideon's International, Compassion International, St. Jude's Hospital for Children, and Habitat for Humanity.
