Sangi, Michelina "Mickey" (nee: Apicella) - a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away on Tuesday July 23rd 2013, she was 91 years old. A graduate of Jersey City State University in 1942, Mickey worked as a teacher and librarian for the Bayonne Board of Education for 54 years, receiving Teacher of the Year honors several times and having the Library at Horace Mann School named after her. Mickey was the devoted wife of the late Michael Sangi and the loving sister to Constance Pepe and her late husband Sam. Mickey was also the cherished aunt to Ramona Pepe and her daughter Nicole; to Joanne Grant, her husband James and her daughter Colleen and to William J. Pepe and his partner Lisa Whesper. Mickey is also survived by her godchild Patty O'Dell, her neighbors The Norton Family, her friend David, her friend Barbara and her fellow teachers Denise, Judy, Michelle & Denise as well as countless other friends and associates. A visitation will be held on Saturday July 27th from 4-6 PM and again on Sunday July 28th from 4-8 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be held on Monday July 29th at 10:30 AM at Assumption Church in Bayonne, 91 W. 23rd St. in Bayonne with interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Mickey's memory to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The Hudson Milestones Child Development Center in Jersey City.
