Pompeo, Modesto - of Bayonne passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday August 7, 2013, he was 97. Modesto was often found playing cards at various Bayonne Senior Centers and was active with Assumption Parish where he was the "Zeppole King" at all their feasts and an active Golden Ager. Modesto served his country during WWII as an Infantryman and was husband to the late Lucy (nee: Mastromonaco). Modesto was loving father to Marie Fama and husband Jim and to Josephine Lipari and husband Michael. He was grandfather to Kristen Fama, Peter Fama and wife Tracy, and to Erica & Michael A. Lipari. Modesto is survived by his brother Joseph as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and was predeceased by brother Nicholas and Joseph's wife Jo. A visitation will be held on Sunday August 11th from 3-7 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be held Monday August 12th at 9:30 AM at Assumption Church, 91 W. 23rd St. in Bayonne with interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.
