Nicholas Mitortando, age 71 of Bayonne, NJ passed away on Jan 25, 2022.
Nicholas was born on Sept 25, 1950 to the late Samuel and Angelina (nee Esposito) Mitortando.
Nicholas's career spanned for many years at NJ Bell, and then Verizon. He was a member of Union Local 827. Nicholas retired at age 50 and then enjoyed day trading.
Nicholas was a man of many hobbies, including restoring and collecting old motorcycles, guns, and coins.
Nicholas could fix almost anything, but in those rare instances where he couldn't, his famous quote was "I GOT A GUY" for that. Nicholas had a great sense of humor and was always cracking jokes. He truly enjoyed any music by Frank Sinatra. Nicholas shared extremely close and unique bond with his granddaughter Emily, and took great pride in many things such as watching her grow up, teaching her how to drive, teaching her about politics and investing.
Nicholas is survived by his loving wife, Laura Mitortando (nee Skowronski), his two daughters, Laura Jean Ponczek and Donna Mitortando, his two granddaughters, Tara Sullivan and Emily Ann Ponczek, his two sisters, Rosemary Mitortando and Virginia Mitortando, also sister in law Mary Mitortando (Vincent), sister in law Carol Dieterle and three nephews, Jamie Mitortando and Vincent Mitortando and Brian Dieterle.
He is also survived by his beloved fur baby, Bella.
Nicholas joins in heaven, his parents, Samuel & Angelina Mitortando, his brother Vincent, his brother Samuel Jr, his brother in law Norman Dieterle and his son in law, Timothy Ponczek.
Services are private, as this was Nicholas's wish.
