Nicola Giuseppe Gerace - of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday January 9th 2024, he was 97.  Born in Arena, Calabria Italy, Nicola was a loving man dedicated to his family and a man of conviction.
He made his life in 3 different countries. Nicola left Italy in 1948 to go to Argentina for a better life after the war. There he worked for a Shoe manufacturing company and then immigrated to the United States in 1978 to Bayonne, New Jersey where he worked and retired from G&B Packing, an Export cargo services company. He resided in Bayonne for the rest of his life.

Nicola was the devoted husband to Caterina (nee; Francese) Gerace and the beloved father to Maria Gerace Intile (Omar), Michael Gerace (Michele) & Isabel Orlando (Anthony).  Nicola was also the cherished grandfather to Mariana, Mariel, Paola, Cristian, Maria Lujan, Nicholas, Michael Jr., Gaetano, Vittoria, Giana & Anthony Jr..  Nicola was pre-deceased by his son Miguel Gerace, his parents Michele & Giuseppina (nee: Greco) Gerace, his siblings Raffaele Gerace, Giuseppe Gerace, Raffaela Arruzza & Pasquale Gerace and he is survived by his sister Caterina Arruzza and a whole host of other loving family members and dear friends here, in Italy and also in Argentina and Australia.  Visitation will be from 3-7PM on Sunday January 14th at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:45am on Monday January 15th at St. Henry's Church in Bayonne with all welcome to gather at the funeral home starting at 9:30am.  Mausoleum entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ.  In lieu of any flowers the family requests that donations be made in Nicola's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which can be done directly by clicking the "Memorial Donation" tab below.
