Noreen Stapleton (nee: McGovern) – of Hoboken NJ,  passed away early Wednesday April 3rd 2024, she was 73 years old.  Born in Jersey City NJ, Noreen was a lifelong resident of Hoboken.  She was the devoted wife to the late Peter J. Stapleton, a loving step-mother to Kevin Stapleton (Hermineh), Peter J. Stapleton Jr. (Maria) & Tricia Stapleton (Jim) and the beloved step-grandmother to Tyler & Carson Stapleton.  Noreen was pre-deceased by her parents Thomas & Lucille (nee; Murphy) McGovern, her brothers Thomas, Terry &  Kevin McGovern, her sisters Gail McGovern & Patricia Lyons and her nephew Daniel McGovern.  Surviving Noreen are her sister Sheila McGovern, her nieces Pauline, Lobue & Michelle McGovern and her nephew Daniel Lobue, and a host of other beloved family members, close friends and cherished neighbors.  Noreen was a longtime Eucharistic Minister and devoted parishioner of St. Peter & Paul Church in Hoboken. As per Noreen's wishes, there will be NO wake service.  However,  a mass celebrated in her memory on Thursday April 11th at 10AM at St. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 404 Hudson Street in Hoboken.  All are welcome to attend.  In lieu of any flowers, please donate in Noreen's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital through a direct link that can be found below this obituary.
