Peter J. Stapleton – of Hoboken formerly of Bayonne, passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday October 1st 2019, he was 81.  Born in Staten Island, Pete was blessed with a love for life and a keen sense of humor.  He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the US Army 82nd airborne as a chaplain's assistant. He then worked briefly on Wall Street with his father before working for many years at The Migliaccio Funeral Home in Bayonne, as owner and operator of C&S Limousine Services and as a co-owner of Holmdel Funeral Home in Holmdel NJ . Pete then trained as a security expert and worked with his brother Michael in NYC several years before retiring.  He was the devoted husband to Noreen Stapleton (nee: McGovern); the loving father to Kevin (Hermineh), Peter Jr. (Maria) and Tricia (Jim) and was the beloved grandfather to Tyler & Carson Stapleton.  Pete was pre-deceased by his sister Barbara and surviving him are his sister Jeannie, his brother Michael and countless nieces, nephews , cousins and dear friends.  Visitation will be Friday October 4th from 2-4PM and from 7-9PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday October 5th at St. Peter & Paul Church, 404 Hudson Street in Hoboken.  A private cremation will follow.
